Hike Report - Iroquoia 4

Section: Iroquoia, B&W 4 Spring. Tiffany Falls to Sam Lawrence Park, 11.7 km. Trail Guide 26th edition.

The Hike met at Colborne Centre for 8:00 am departure to Hamilton to stage the cars and start at Tiffany Falls. While the weather forecast was calling for rain showers and dark, windblown clouds were rolling above, it was quite pleasant and sunny as the Hike headed for Tiffany Falls.

 Most of the winter ice wall had melted with some residual ice perilously clinging to the steep wall in defiance of the warming temperatures.

Soon the Hike was heading across Wilson St. and the stairs up a steep ascend to the Escarpment brow then descending through woods to a creek bridge and ascending again on the way to Filman Rd.

Crossing over Hwy 403 the trail entered the Iroquoia Heights Conservation Area on the way to the Scenic Drive Side Trail before descending a set of steep metal steps to the main trail at marker 38.4.

From here the Hike followed the Main Trail, crossing Becket Drive, up to the Claremont Access

 to the Sam Lawrence Park Side Trail and up to the staged car. While rain threatened, the Hike enjoyed sunny breaks as the car was recovered from the start parking lot and the Hike gathered at Tim’s on Bronte Rd for post hike debrief.
