Hike Report - Iroquoia 10

Section:  Iroquoia -Twiss Rd. to Rattlesnake Point Conservation Area included Crawford Lake, Leech-Porter and  Canyon Bypass side trails
Leader: John Nourse
Hikers: Bill & Diane, John & Karen, John G., Jim, Karen, Sandra and Rudi

It was a beautiful day for a hike. We did a bit of driving in the countryside to find a parking spot and ended up with a Plan B. We definitely needed our icers today.

We were hiking over rocky terrain to begin with and then through hardwood forests through the Nassagaweya Canyon which is a deep valley that runs between the main escarpment and a large rocky outcrop known as the Milton outlier.

As it is March Break we met other hikers today including the Pathfinders group.

There were several firefighters training near the cliff edge at Rattlesnake Point.

We were asked to volunteer for recovery/rescue from the cliff face. Thanks but no thanks! We also met with a man and his dog Charlie.

He was collecting his rappelling harness from the day before.

Charlie was very friendly!
The side trails we covered were Crawford Lake,

Canyon Bypass,

the Leech Porter side trail and the Rattlesnake Point Access trail.
