Section: Toronto – 17th Side Road to Scotsdale Farm via 17th Access Trail 2, Vanderleek Side Trail-1, Canada Goose Side Trail-1, Brown Benton Side Trail, Black Creek Side Trail and Bennett Heritage Side Trail 1. Distance 18.4 km’sWe met at the Colboune Centre at 8:00 and drove to Scotsdale Farm and left two cars and drove to the start of the hike at 17th Side Road Access Trail.
We started the hike at the Vanderleek Side Trail, which is named after a Toronto Club veteran, and continued northeast for 2 km`s to the main trail.
After hiking on the main trail for almost 1 km we reached the Canada Goose Side Trail-1 which we hiked for a little over 2 km`s where we reached the Brown Benton Side Trail.
After hiking on this side trail for 1 km we again reached the main trail which we hiked for .5 km to Black Creek Side Trail.
Hiking 1.5 km`s on this trail we again reached the main trail which we continued to hike for 8.5 km`s to the Bennett Heritage Side Trail-1. Another 1.8 km`s on this side trail completed the hike.
It was a beautiful day with the fall colours starting to emerge. We all agreed that it had been a wonderful hike
This site contains the details of the the Blue & White Explorers which was a regular program of the Pathfinders Hiking Group of Oakville . The program's objective is to explore all of the Bruce Trail end-to-end using all of the Blue side trail branches. (Select drop down archive to view Hike Reports) The program was completed from Queenston to the end of Blue Mountains, where it was suspended due to lack of Sufficient interested hikers
